Venice Surf Report 01/04/08 Goodfellas At The Pier Part III

Sorry no pics for the surf this morning, there was supposed to be some but.....aw, fuck it, it's a long story. I think.

The good news, though, is that yesterday morning when I was down at the pier who was down there but our good friend Henry Hill, of Goodfellas fame.

As I walked out to the pier he stopped me and said

"Hey, please, please, please - can you do me a huge favor? C'mon, ya big dope - please?"

"Henry!" I said. "What the hell are you doing down here again?"

"Getting FUCKED UP!"

"Okay, tell you what, let me get my pictures and I'll come back and hook you up."

Knowing, of course, that the favor he needed was for me to buy him booze.

Now, Henry is famously camera shy, unless, of course, posing for the camera gets him some more booze. So, I took my pictures of the flat ocean, came back down and he handed me 9 quarters and two dollar bills and asked for "some Jack".

So, I went to Nicks and chipped in the extra 4 bucks needed to get him a pint, and returned to one very happy ex-mobster, who was now all too happy to pose for pictures.

Now, you may remember that Henry's girlfriend Lisa has been rather vocal about her hatred for me as I always catch Henry when he is at his worst, i.e. hanging out at the pier getting shitfaced at 6 am in the morning.

But this morning Henry was so appreciative for the 8 dollars worth of Jack Daniels that he received for his handful of change that he told me to take "as many fucking pictures as you fucking want. You can even put 'em on YouTube, ya big fuck!"

So I did. Enjoy.











When I finally left Henry was very grateful and was trying his damndest to get that little fucking plastic wrapper off the top of the bottle.

How long until I hear about it from Lisa, do you think? 'Cause I know she checks this site. How about it, Lisa? Did I finally catch him with "some good drunks" ?
